Head Trauma and Traumatic Brain Injury Lawsuits

Brain injury caused by near drowning
After spending close to four minutes under water, a young girl suffered severe brain injury due to her prolonged lack of oxygen.

Motley Rice attorneys, along with co-counsel, represented the child’s family in this case against multiple defendants, alleging negligence, pain, suffering, permanent impairment, disfigurement, scarring and emotional distress arising from the child’s injuries.

After reaching a confidential multi-million dollar settlement, the majority of the funds were placed into a special needs trust to provide for medical assistance and developmental resources for the injured child.

Head trauma caused by elevator entrapment
A small child suffered severe injuries after becoming trapped in an elevator shaft at a residential vacation rental. The incident resulted in a number of long-term injuries including left optic neuropathy, post-traumatic stress disorder and possible seizures.

Motley Rice attorneys Anne McGinness Kearse, David Hoyle and Graham Maiden represent the child’s family in this ongoing litigation.

Head trauma sustained at public event
While attending a public horse show, a woman sustained a cranial fracture and hearing loss, and continues to receive medical care and treatment.

The plaintiff and her family are represented by Motley Rice attorneys against multiple defendants based on theories of premise liability and negligence.
